The government has raised prices for aviation turbine fuel (ATF) and 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders in its monthly adjustment, effective November 1. This adjustment aligns with shifts in international oil prices, according to data from state-owned fuel distributors.
ATF prices were raised by 3.3 percent, amounting to an increase of Rs 2,941.5 per kilolitre, reaching Rs 90,538.72 per kilolitre in Delhi. In Mumbai, ATF rates rose to Rs 84,642.91 per kilolitre from the previous Rs 81,866.13. This rise follows two successive rate cuts in October and September that brought ATF prices to their lowest levels of the year.
For commercial LPG, the price for a 19-kg cylinder in Delhi increased by Rs 62, now priced at Rs 1,802. In Mumbai, the new rate is Rs 1,754.50 per cylinder, with prices in Kolkata and Chennai set at Rs 1,911.50 and Rs 1,964.50, respectively. However, the price of domestic LPG for households remains unchanged at Rs 803 per 14.2-kg cylinder.
This adjustment marks the fourth consecutive monthly increase in commercial LPG rates, following hikes of Rs 48.5 in October, Rs 39 in September, and Rs 6.5 in August. Prior to this, prices had been reduced in four successive monthly adjustments, leading to an overall price increase of Rs 156 per cylinder after recent hikes.
The monthly revisions in ATF and LPG prices are conducted by state-owned Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL). These adjustments are based on fluctuations in international benchmark fuel prices and foreign exchange rates. The current prices of petrol and diesel remain unchanged, with petrol at Rs 94.72 per litre and diesel at Rs 87.62 in Delhi.
