Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has introduced the NeuSPHERE Innovation Acceleration Program in India, aiming to collaborate with technology-based startups in fields such as big data, signal and image processing, and green energy. Applications for the program are open until February 6, 2024, according to a press release issued by IAI.
This initiative follows IAI’s 2022 memorandum of understanding with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited to co-produce multi-mission tanker transport aircraft in India. The NeuSPHERE program represents IAI’s efforts to engage with India’s growing defense and aerospace sectors while leveraging Indian talent and technological innovation.
In a related development, India's Science and Technology Minister, Jitendra Singh, invited Israeli startups to participate in the National Quantum Mission (NQM) during the recent India-Israel Innovation Meet. The mission, launched earlier this year, focuses on advancing quantum technologies across sectors like healthcare, energy, and communications. It aims to position India as a global leader in quantum technologies by 2031 through collaborative research, infrastructure development, and international partnerships.
Israeli officials have expressed interest in contributing to quantum research under the NQM, citing their country's expertise in advanced technologies. Discussions between Singh and Israel’s Industry and Economy Minister, Nir Barkat, also explored potential collaborations in fields such as space technology, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and biotechnology.
These initiatives highlight ongoing efforts to strengthen technological and economic cooperation between India and Israel across strategic and emerging sectors.
