Godrej Aerospace To Manufacture Stability Actuators for AMCA Programme

Godrej Aerospace has received technology transfer from the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) to produce stability actuators for the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) programme. The move allows the company to manufacture critical flight-control components domestically for the aircraft.
Stability actuators are mechanical or electromechanical devices that control flight control surfaces such as elevators, rudders, and ailerons, converting electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic energy into precise motion to adjust the aircraft’s attitude and maintain stability during flight. The technology transfer was reported in late September 2025, and the AMCA programme is a multi-billion-rupee initiative with multiple prototypes, managed by DRDO, including aspects of engine development through international collaborations.
Following the transfer, Godrej Aerospace can produce complex flight-control components like stability actuators indigenously. The company’s aerospace manufacturing infrastructure includes approximately 35,000 sq. meters of operational space and an additional 48,500 sq. meters under development, supporting large-scale production.
Godrej Aerospace has also implemented advanced manufacturing processes and is engaged in producing complex engine parts in collaboration with international OEMs such as Pratt & Whitney. It is involved in indigenous defence aero engine development projects with DRDO’s Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE) focused on advanced engine technologies for fighter aircraft.
These capabilities allow Godrej Aerospace to supply high-precision aero components required for modern fighter aircraft, integrating into India’s aerospace and defence manufacturing ecosystem.
Godrej Aerospace is part of Godrej & Boyce and operates in India’s aerospace and defence sector, providing components, systems, and solutions for military and civil applications.
